What happens to my booking and payment if …

 

…I am not welcome as a guest from a risk area

Despite a confirmed reservation, the hotel does not want to accept you as guests from risk areas. Since there is already a contractual relationship, the hotel is obliged to bear the costs and reimburse them or to cancel the booking free of charge.

…there are certain entry / exit restrictions

You cannot arrive because it is not possible to leave your country or enter Switzerland. Since the journey has become objectively impossible for you, there is basically no entitlement to any cancellation fees. The hotel is obliged to bear the costs and to reimburse any down payments.

…the hotel closes

The federal government decrees the immediate closure of the hotel operations. In this case, you as a guest do not bear any risk and the hotel is obliged to reimburse you for the costs incurred or to cancel the booking free of charge.

…the ski lifts in Obersaxen close

Even in the event of an officially ordered Swiss-wide closure of the ski area, the hotel’s cancellation conditions generally apply, as this is a matter of force majeure. This means that you as a guest may be liable for damages.

As a goodwill gesture, however, we offer you the opportunity to redeem the missed amount as a voucher within one year in the Alpenlodge Val Gronda.

…external events or major events that I attend are canceled

The hotel’s cancellation policy also applies to an officially ordered Swiss-wide cancellation of major events. This means that you as a guest may be liable for damages, because external events are not part of the hotel’s area of ​​responsibility.

As a goodwill gesture, however, we offer you the opportunity to redeem the missed amount as a voucher within one year in the Alpenlodge Val Gronda.

…there is a quarantine obligation

You cannot arrive because there is an official quarantine. Depending on the circumstances, you may be liable for damages.

  1. You are in quarantine due to a possible infection and cannot start your trip in time. In this case, the hotel’s cancellation policy applies and you as a guest may be liable for compensation. As a gesture of goodwill, however, we offer you the option of redeeming the missed amount as a voucher within one year in the Alpenlodge.
  2. You have booked your stay with us despite the travel warning and now want to cancel it. In this case, the hotel’s cancellation policy applies and you as a guest may be liable for compensation.
  3. You booked before a travel warning was announced and now you no longer want to travel in advance of or after your vacation due to the mandatory quarantine. The hotel pays the costs in the event of cancellation.

… I am afraid of infection

You do not want to arrive or leave early because you are afraid of a possible infection, for example. The usual cancellation conditions of the hotel apply and you as a guest may be liable for compensation.

…I fell ill

You are ill and cannot start your journey.

In the event of illness (whether coronavirus or other illness), the contractually agreed cancellation conditions will be applied. You as a guest may therefore remain liable to pay according to the cancellation conditions. If necessary, you have taken out travel insurance which will cover the costs.
